#DomesticViolence: The Investigation.


John Wrighty continues his story, a male victim of domestic violence.

After being bailed by Officers from Derbyshire Police I was at a very low point in my life so I went on the sick at work as the stress was making me ill. I took up the offer of counselling from Greater Manchester Police and my sessions were with the same person I had seen previously before the incident this did help me to some degree but I could not get away from the shame I was feeling at admitting I had suffered abuse and threats at the hands of my Wife. What were my family and friends thinking about me and also my colleagues the shame I was feeling was unbearable but I knew I had to fight on and prove my innocence? On the 5th of January 2010 I sent my solicitor a list of 12 people who had witnessed incidents and injuries on myself and also a family friend who my Wife had attacked some years earlier was also willing to give evidence on my behalf. This amounted to a total of 18 incidents where injuries had been noted on myself which were contained within the evidence from these 12 witnesses.
